San Diego Padres/ Fathers Day Cake!

Last weekend we celebrated Father's Day, and for this client, it was Happy "Padres" Day-- her father was a former San Diego Padres Player! He was a first round draft pick in 1971, when the colors were brown and yellow. When the client picked up the cake, she showed me her dad's baseball card that they ended up placing on top of the cake against the flags. Here is a copy of the one she showed me (2nd photo). Happy Fathers day to an MVP dad!

A Ballerina's Blue Ruffle Cake!

An  adorable ballerina I know had a birthday recently, and requested this very ruffly birthday cake! This was similar to a previous cake I have made, only I decided to use fondant rather than buttercream in order to get longer, thinner ruffles. I am so stoked that I made this cake, because since posting it, I booked a "styled photography shoot" with some other vendors in the wedding industry with a similar themed cake! I love the idea of pooling with others in the wedding industry to showcase our talents while producing a beautiful shoot! I am excited to see a similar cake, in an awesome setting and with the magic that my colleagues will bring to the table. More to come on that, stay tuned very soon!

Firefighter David's Birthday Cake!

Check out the firefighter cake one of my clients ordered for her boyfriend, David! We incorporated their turnout jacket, helmet, boots, hose and a universal firefighter symbol.

Either it's a Jeff Dunham reference or a really mean cake!

Jeff Dunham (Ventriloquist/Comedian) and Achmed the Dead Terrorist
I laughed when one of my clients asked me to make her mother a cake of "Achmed the Dead Terrorist". I have heard the comedian and ventriloquist, Jeff Dunham, a few times online, but I didn't remember hearing Achmed, of one of his most popular characters. I searched online for pictures of him, and could not help but think, man there is no way I can make him look pretty on a cake! I decided to just go for it, and create him as true to puppet as possible, and of course using one of his coin phrases, "I keel you!" Check out the real deal in the 2nd photo!

More Graduation Cakes!!

Check out a couple more of this year's graduation cakes! Of coarse they included school colors, name/initials, a grad cap, and fun, personalized designs to the personality of the recipient! Make any special requests for your grad- favorite sports teams, bands, hobbies, styles, etc!

U of A School of Medicine Dr. Graduation Cake!!

This cake was made for my friend who recently graduated from of U of A School of Medicine to become an Anesthesiologist! His mom who ordered the cake and threw him an awesome grad party, requested that the tie match the colors of his Alma Mater- although it was hard for me as an ASU grad to create a U of A grad's cake, I took comfort in the fact that my friend, the Doctor, also received his undergrad from ASU and is a Sun Devil at heart!! I know someday I will need to make a wildcat cake for a client, and I'm not looking forward to it, but for now, a tie adorning those school colors is a baby step for me toward growth. I hope you appreciate the sacrifice I made for you TJ =) And congrats!

Pink Sock Monkey Flag Banner Cake!

This fun cake was created for a little birthday girl using the classic sock monkey theme, only a girl sock monkey! Mom, Brittany, sent me a copy of the invitation, which employed the color scheme above and a cute flag banner with a similar look. I also loved the idea of bringing in the classic argyle into the cake border and of course a bow and a "1" for Kenadie's first birthday! I always love a good theme to work with, and I could not wait to make this one! Happy birthday Kenadie!
