A Fair Farewell for a Going Away Party

One of my best friends Bethany, and her husband Mike found out only weeks ago that they would be moving to California when he accepted an awesome new job opportunity. I was planning the design of her birthday cake when I found out, thinking the next celebration would be for her 28th. Little did I know, we would be gathering people the following weekend to celebrate our friends Mike and Bethany before their move. I refused to call it a "going away party" although that is the blog title, instead we called it a "farewell party for their extended California stay". Bethany's planned purse birthday cake became a Louis Vuitton luggage cake, and of course it was Bethany's fave- red velvet. Although there are no great pictures of the cake in existence, it was mistaken by a few for the real thing. So happy we got to celebrate Mike and Bethany while they were here....and of course I have not given up on us living in the same state someday again. Here's to Mike and Bethany!
