A Ballerina's Blue Ruffle Cake!

An  adorable ballerina I know had a birthday recently, and requested this very ruffly birthday cake! This was similar to a previous cake I have made, only I decided to use fondant rather than buttercream in order to get longer, thinner ruffles. I am so stoked that I made this cake, because since posting it, I booked a "styled photography shoot" with some other vendors in the wedding industry with a similar themed cake! I love the idea of pooling with others in the wedding industry to showcase our talents while producing a beautiful shoot! I am excited to see a similar cake, in an awesome setting and with the magic that my colleagues will bring to the table. More to come on that, stay tuned very soon!

Ruffle Bottomed Cake!

If you can't tell already from my other cakes, and from my Pinterest Account, I LOVE ruffles. In fact, if you see me around town, I may even be wearing them, somewhere on my outfit, as pointed out by many of my friends. So I'm not sure it was a surprise when one of my clients, who asked me surprise her with the design of the cake, picked this frilly treat up! I saw a similar design in a wedding I was at, and since have had to try it. Indeed, it is one of my faves and you may be seeing a lot of these ruffles incorporated into future cakes! In fact, in my photo shoot by Keira Grace Photography, I created some rose cupcakes using a similar technique. Hope you like frills as much as I do!
