A Simple Cheers to a University of Arizona birthday alum!
Probably one of the hardest cakes I have had to make to date- and not because of difficulty level, was this plain and simple nod to the University of Arizona. Being an ASU alum, I have dished out my share of smack talk to some of my very most favorite people in the world, who happen to be U of A grads. Which made it, not that easy to make a pretty little cake, which is unmistakably and only, all about the University of Arizona. A great friend of mine, ordered it for her sweet husband's birthday, and he loved it, so I was delighted =) I'm not going to say it wasn't a little gratifying though that there were some loyal ASU fans there who refused to eat it, without calling it an "American Cake" (you know, red, white & blue). Hah! Love it =)

More Graduation Cakes!!
Check out a couple more of this year's graduation cakes! Of coarse they included school colors, name/initials, a grad cap, and fun, personalized designs to the personality of the recipient! Make any special requests for your grad- favorite sports teams, bands, hobbies, styles, etc!
U of A School of Medicine Dr. Graduation Cake!!
This cake was made for my friend who recently graduated from of U of A School of Medicine to become an Anesthesiologist! His mom who ordered the cake and threw him an awesome grad party, requested that the tie match the colors of his Alma Mater- although it was hard for me as an ASU grad to create a U of A grad's cake, I took comfort in the fact that my friend, the Doctor, also received his undergrad from ASU and is a Sun Devil at heart!! I know someday I will need to make a wildcat cake for a client, and I'm not looking forward to it, but for now, a tie adorning those school colors is a baby step for me toward growth. I hope you appreciate the sacrifice I made for you TJ =) And congrats!

Whether you are graduating Cum Laude, or were crossing your fingers on that last big final, every graduate deserves cupcakes! The top Owl cupcakes were for some sorority sisters and the bottom, some ASU grads! Cupcakes can be personalized to personality, area of study, or whatever you dream up! Check out one of my graduation cakes in a previous post for a future astronaut!

Astronaut Graduation Cake- From ASU to Beyond!
This cake was made for a friend of mine who graduated from the School of Earth and Space Exploration at Arizona State University! I haven't brushed up on my planets in awhile- what they look like and what order they are in, so this really gave me a chance to do so! I placed the astronaut on the moon with the other planets, including earth, in the background and am confident he will end up there someday! Jim, congrats on your Bachelor's and I can't wait to see what's in store for you next!

Cupcakes to Cap the Night!
What a great Big Sis- my friend Rachel, called me to order her Little Sis some cupcakes for the night of her graduation. They celebrated with dinner on the town and these little mini cakes with grad caps and glitter! The official shindig in celebration of her graduation from ASU (the greatest school ever) will be later in January, but what a a fun way to follow the cap and gown ceremony! Follow your dreams little Sis! You have a great education and a great Big Sis to learn from! Ahem... GO SUN DEVILS!!

Maroon and Gold Girls!
A couple of Perry High School grads, Miss Kasey Gates and one of her long time bestie's Megan asked me to make their graduation cake in May. Looking forward to their Freshmen year at ASU as roommates, they wanted me to incorporate their future school colors and theme into their cake, meant to feed 80 people. That's right, 80 people! They have a lot of friends =) Being that ASU is my alma mater, I was MORE than excited! Especially after their recent re-branding with the updated pitchfork.
I ended up using a super cute picture of them in their ASU shirts and some glittery letters and foam core to create the embellishments. I also used my new flower fondant cutters on the top to add some more sass.
PS. Keep your eye out for Miss Kasey Gates, she will be a star someday!!
